Repair Authorization and Customer Terms
Last updated: August 14, 2026
1. Authorization to inspect and repair
You authorize Edgewood Tech Repair to inspect, diagnose, disassemble, test, and perform the repairs you approve for the device listed on your work order. We will request approval before performing work that materially exceeds an approved quote.
2. Ownership and authority
You confirm that you own the device or have permission from its owner to authorize service. You agree to provide accurate contact and device information and any passcode reasonably needed for testing. We will use access credentials only as reasonably necessary to diagnose, repair, and test the device.
3. Backups, data, and device condition
Back up your device before service whenever possible. Repair work can expose pre-existing problems and may require resetting, restoring, or replacing storage or other components. Edgewood Tech Repair does not guarantee that data, settings, applications, or accounts can be preserved or recovered. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or corruption of data that was not caused by our failure to use reasonable care.
4. Estimates and additional damage
Quotes are based on the information and device condition then available. Hidden damage, liquid exposure, prior repairs, frame damage, unavailable parts, or additional failed components may change the price or completion time. We will obtain your approval before performing materially different chargeable work. Diagnostic or special-order charges disclosed before purchase may be nonrefundable.
5. Parts
Unless the work order says otherwise, repairs may use new, refurbished, reclaimed, or compatible aftermarket parts suitable for the repair. Color, brightness, cosmetic appearance, water resistance, and manufacturer features may differ after repair. Opening or repairing a device may affect a manufacturer warranty or water-resistance rating.
6. Limited repair warranty
For the warranty period stated on your work order or receipt, Edgewood Tech Repair provides a limited warranty covering our workmanship and failure of adhesive applied by us that causes a screen or back panel we installed to separate from the device frame under normal use. If a covered problem occurs during that period, we will inspect the device and, when we confirm it is covered, correct the workmanship or adhesive failure without an additional labor charge.
This limited warranty does not cover separation or other damage caused by a drop, impact, crushing, a bent or damaged frame, battery swelling, excessive heat, liquid exposure, misuse, normal wear, unauthorized opening or repair after our service, or another condition unrelated to our workmanship. It also does not cover software, data, unrelated component failures, cosmetic differences, or customer-supplied parts. Warranty service may require the customer to return or deliver the device to Edgewood Tech Repair for inspection. Your legal rights may vary, and nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Payment, possessory lien, device release, and replaced parts
Payment for authorized labor and services is due before the repaired device is released unless Edgewood Tech Repair agrees otherwise in writing. Taxes and approved shipping charges may be added. Special-order parts may require advance payment.
To the extent permitted by Florida law, Edgewood Tech Repair claims a possessory lien on a customer device upon which Edgewood Tech Repair performed authorized labor or services and may retain possession of that device until the authorized labor and service charges are paid in full, Edgewood Tech Repair provides written consent to release it, or the lawful retention period ends, whichever occurs first. Retention under this provision will not exceed three months unless continued possession is authorized by a court order or other applicable law.
The customer agrees not to remove or attempt to remove a device subject to this lien from Edgewood Tech Repair's possession without first paying the authorized labor and service charges in full or obtaining Edgewood Tech Repair's written consent. This provision does not give Edgewood Tech Repair automatic ownership of the device or an automatic right to sell or dispose of it. Any enforcement, sale, storage, disposal, or unclaimed-property remedy must follow applicable law and any required notice.
Replaced parts may be retained or recycled by Edgewood Tech Repair unless you request their return before service and return is lawful and practical.
8. Pickup, storage, and unclaimed devices
We will use the contact information on the work order to notify you when service is complete or when your response is needed. Storage charges, treatment of unclaimed devices, and any disposal or other remedy will follow applicable law and any separate written notice we provide. These terms do not authorize immediate disposal of your property.
9. Shipping
If a device is shipped, you are responsible for accurate shipping information, safe packaging, compliance with carrier battery rules, and removing prohibited items. Shipping risk and insurance are governed by the selected carrier except to the extent loss or damage is caused by Edgewood Tech Repair. Do not ship a device with a swollen, leaking, punctured, recalled, or dangerously hot battery unless we provide specific written instructions.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Edgewood Tech Repair will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost use, or unrecoverable data. Any liability for physical damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care will be limited to the reasonable cost of repairing that damage or the fair market value of the device immediately before the service, whichever is less. This section does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.
11. Communications, SMS messaging, and electronic acceptance
SMS is optional. If you separately check the SMS consent box when submitting a request, you agree to receive service-related text messages from Edgewood Tech Repair at the mobile number you provide. Messages may concern appointments, repair status, estimates, approvals, technician updates, payments, customer-portal access, and support. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to SMS is not a condition of purchase.
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help, call (904) 938-4025, or email edgewoodtechrepair@yahoo.com. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your repair request; we may contact you through another method you provide. See our SMS Privacy Policy for how mobile information and consent records are handled.
By entering your name, providing either a drawn touchscreen signature or typed electronic signature, and selecting “I Accept,” you intend to sign these terms electronically and authorize the work order. You may print or save this page for your records.
12. Governing law and entire agreement
Florida law governs these terms, without limiting any nonwaivable consumer protection. Your work order, approved quote, receipt, written limited warranty, and these terms form the agreement for the repair. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
